With the support of local agents One Dollar For Music, The Future Sounds Of Folk will be presented at the IT university in Bali. For the first time, I will have the opportunity to carry out the presentation/discussion format as originally proposed, without too much expectations, I hope at least to learn about the local Balinese mindset in 2010 about their impressions on the future and how it relates to their folk music.
2 tracks of Bambu Wukir taken from his latest release Atas Nama Bunyi.
2 edited tracks of some recordings I made of a Karinding Attack rehearsal at Common Room
“The Future Sounds Of Folk is not ethnomusicology for the faint-hearted; rather it is a journey to experience and rediscover the history and tradition of folk, not as the past, but one with a future, and one that would appear well worth waiting for.” – The Wire (#318)

So far the development of The Future Sounds Of Folk project has brought me to this performance…
The research and planning for The Future Sounds Of Folk project has also been running concurrent to all this, I have gotten in touch with many interesting people such as Mr Endo, he is a walking encyclopedia of Indonesian music and was involved in the process of the 20 disc Smithsonian Folkway release Music Of Indonesia.
